In addition to their own first-round selection in the 2014 NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic will also pick 12th by dint of the Dwight Howard trade they swung in August 2012. In that deal, Orlando obtained a 2014 first-rounder from either the Denver Nuggets or the New York Knicks, whichever team's pick finished with the less favorable selection. Here at Orlando Pinstriped Post, we've termed that pick the WoNK, or "Worst of Nuggets/Knicks."
In Tuesday's NBA Draft Lottery, the Knicks wound up with the lower pick between the two teams, meaning their selection--12th overall--now belongs to Orlando.
The Lottery, still in progress at press time, will soon reveal where Orlando's own pick will end up. The Magic can't pick lower than sixth and have a 15.6 percent chance of landing the top selection.
Orlando Pinstriped Post will provide more Draft coverage over the coming weeks. The 2014 NBA Draft is set for Thursday, June 26th.
