The Orlando Magic reconvene Wednesday after two nights off to host the playoff-hopeful Cleveland Cavaliers at Amway Center. In the battle for the East's final postseason berth, Cleveland trails the Atlanta Hawks by four games in the loss column with seven to play.
Tipoff between Orlando and Cleveland is set for 7:00 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida and ESPN 580 AM in Orlando. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 5:00 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.
Orlando's last time out: The Magic tied the score against the Toronto Raptors twice in the fourth quarter Sunday, only to squander their best chance at victory with a five-second inbounding violation on their penultimate possession. At the time of the call, Orlando trailed by only three points with 8.9 seconds to play. Nik Vučević scored 22 points with 10 rebounds to lead Orlando in both categories. The Raptors got 28 points on 6-of-14 shooting from All-Star swingman DeMar DeRozan.
Cleveland's last time out: Dion Waiters scored 19 points to lead the Cavaliers past the Indiana Pacers, 90-76, on Sunday. The second-year guard ranked among six Cavaliers to reach double-figure scoring as they continued the Pacers' recent slide in the standings. Indiana shot just 37.2 percent from the floor.
The last meeting: All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving poured in 22 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists as Cleveland topped Orlando, 101-93, at Quicken Loans Arena on February 19th. Tristan Thompson contributed 16 points and 14 boards in support, helping the Cavs counter a 23-point outing from Arron Afflalo and Vučević's 20-point, 12-board double-double.
