Magic at Spurs: Kyle O'Quinn to start at power forward, according to report

The Orlando Magic will shuffle their starting lineup for Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs, reports John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com: Kyle O'Quinn will start at power forward in place of Tobias Harris, who had started each of Orlando's last 15 games and in 36 of his 42 overall appearances in the 2013/14 season.

Saturday's start will mark O'Quinn's first of 2013/14. In 50 appearances, the Norfolk State product is averaging 4.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, one assist, and one block per game. In his last eight appearances, O'Quinn has taken on a larger role, posting per-game averages of 8.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, one steal, and 1.4 blocks in 20.3 minutes.

In the Magic's most recent game against San Antonio, the Spurs held a 43-28 rebounding advantage. Pairing O'Quinn with Nik Vučević on the starting front line could help Orlando avoid a similar fate Saturday. According to nba.com/stats, Orlando has grabbed 55.1 percent of all available rebounds in the 62 minutes O'Quinn and Vucevic have played together in 2013/14.

Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said in February that he's still trying to find the best role for Harris. This move enables him to get a closer look at the third-year forward's ability to play with the second unit.

Harris is averaging 14.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game in his first full season with the Magic. As Tyler Lashbrook wrote Tuesday, he has improved his game since Orlando's buyout of Glen Davis.
