The Orlando Magic announced Friday their plans to honor Grant Hill during Tuesdays's game against the Portland Trail Blazers. To celebrate its 25th anniversary season, the team has previously honored several key figures--including Tracy McGrady, Penny Hardaway, Nick Anderson, and Darrell Armstrong-- from its history.

Hill joined the Magic prior to the 2000/01 season, hoping to team with fellow newcomer McGrady to restore Orlando to NBA prominence. Injuries beset his Magic tenure--he missed the entire 2003/04 season with an ankle injury, and he missed 50-plus games four times in his Orlando career--but he nonetheless enjoyed a fair measure of success in the City Beautiful.

The first 2500 fans in attendance Tuesday will receive a commemorative photograph, measuring eight by 10 inches, of Hill and Magic big man Andrew Nicholson. Hill will also join Paul Kennedy and Anderson on Magic Live, the Fox Sports Florida pregame show. In addition, Hill will appear with David Steele and Jeff Turner on the Fox Sports Florida telecast of Friday's game. Tipoff against the Trail Blazers is set for 7 PM.

In his six Magic seasons, Hill averaged 16.4 points, five rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals. In team history, he ranks seventh in per-game scoring and sixth in field-goal shooting (50 percent).
