Nik Vučević earned the first ejection of his career Wednesday in the first quarter of the Orlando Magic's game against the Phoenix Suns. The third-year center picked up two technical fouls in quick succession, ending his night prematurely.

At the 3:51 mark of the period, Suns big man Channing Frye blocked a Vučević hook shot. The referees assessed Vučević a technical during the next play, presumably because of his protesting that Frye fouled him on that block, though we can't say for sure what words Vučević and the referees exchanged.

Two Magic possessions later, the team again tried to post Vučević against Frye. As the Orlando big man made his move to the basket, Frye hit the deck for an offensive foul. Instead of giving the ball to an official, Vučević tossed it at Frye as he lay on the floor, earning his second technical foul of the night.

Without Vučević available for the final three-plus quarters Wednesday, expect the team to rely more heavily on Andrew Nicholson and possibly Dewayne Dedmon off the bench.
