The NBA announced Tuesday that Turner Sports analysts Grant Hill and Chris Webber will select the teams for the 2014 Rising Stars Challenge. Those two men take over for Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley, who picked the teams in each of the last two years.
Hill and Webber will make their picks on Thursday, February 6th, at 7 PM Eastern on TNT. Orlando Magic rookie Victor Oladipo is among the players in the pool from which the general managers will draw. The Indiana product is averaging 13.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, four assists, and 1.6 steals per game on 40.3 percent shooting.
The 2014 Rising Stars Challenge is scheduled for Friday, February 14th at 9 PM Eastern on TNT.
The Magic had two representatives in the 2013 Rising Stars Challenge, with Nik Vučević's Team Chuck blasting Andrew Nicholson's Team Shaq by a 163-135 final. Vučević tallied 15 points and four rebounds, while Nicholson posted six points and three boards. Given how guard-friendly these defense-free exhibitions tend to be, Oladipo figures to score more points than Vučević and Nicholson combined.
