In conjunction with Harris Corporation, the Orlando Magic will host their 11th annual Seats for Soldiers night on Friday, November 7th for their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
"It is truly the Orlando Magic’s honor to recognize the brave men and women who dedicate their lives in service of our great country," Magic CEO Alex Martins said in a release announcing the event. "Together with Harris Corporation, we recognize the sacrifices made by not only the men and women in uniform but their families as well. They are all heroes."
The Magic, along with Harris--a Champions of the Community partner--and their season ticketholders, have donated seats to 2000 active and retired military personnel and their families, allowing them to enjoy a night of NBA basketball. In addition, the team will honor US Army sergeant Bacary Sambou, who joined the Army in 1997 and was wounded by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan in 2012. Sgt. Sambou and his family will receive courtside seats for the game and will be recognized as part of a halftime ceremony.
