The Erie BayHawks have signed Kadeem Batts, Drew Crawford, Seth Curry, and Peyton Siva, the team announced Thursday. The Orlando Magic waived each of those four players at the conclusion of training camp. They cleared the waiver process and thus earned assignments to Erie, Orlando's NBA D-League affiliate.
Batts, Crawford, Curry, and Siva did not play in any of Orlando's eight preseason games; instead, the team brought them to camp with the expectation that they'd ultimately wind up with the BayHawks. To snag Curry, the BayHawks had to swing a trade with the Santa Cruz Warriors for his D-League rights.
Batts, Crawford, and Curry played for the Magic's entry in the 2014 Orlando Pro Summer League. Siva joined Orlando for training camp.
In addition, the BayHawks announced more hires for coach Bill Peterson's staff. Nate Babcock and former NBA player Anthony Goldwire will serve as Peterson's assistants, and Reggie King has come aboard as a coach's associate.
