The hits keep on coming for the Orlando Magic. After getting Victor Oladipo back from a facial fracture and a sprained MCL on Friday night, the team lost rookie Aaron Gordon for an indefinite period after he suffered a broken fifth metatarsal in his left foot in the team's loss on Saturday night in Washington.
Gordon, the fourth overall pick in June's draft, left the game late and had X-ray's done that showed the injury. In 10 games this season, Gordon has averaged 5.8 points and 3.0 rebounds in 15 minutes per game. The team said that Gordon will be evaluated further once they return home following Monday night's game in Detroit.
In Gordon's absence, both Maurice Harkless and Andrew Nicholson, who have played sparingly this season, should see an increase in minutes. In six games this season, Harkless has averaged 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per game, while Nicholson has appeared in four games, averaging 2.8 points in seven minutes of action.
