The Orlando Magic had until midnight on October 31st to agree to terms with fourth-year forward Tobias Harris on an early contract extension, but the deadline passed without the parties coming to an accord. As such, Harris will become a restricted free agent on July 1st, 2015, once Orlando extends to him a qualifying offer.

According to Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders, Harris' representatives and the Magic "have not had 'negotiations' on his deal for some time." Orlando's plan, Kyler says, seems to be to match an offer sheet for Harris.

Since joining the Magic via trade in February 2013, Harris has averaged 15.5 points and 7.4 rebounds in 90 appearances, including 58 starts.

The Magic did reach an extension agreement with their other fourth-year star, Nikola Vucevic, whose four-year deal will keep him under Orlando control through the 2018/19 season.
