The Orlando Magic announced Friday that Victor Oladipo will miss an indefinite period of time due to a facial fracture he sustained Thursday "during a practice drill." The second-year guard is set to undergo surgery Saturday.
Oladipo did not play in the Magic's first seven preseason games owing to a sprained MCL. He finished second in Rookie of the Year voting in 2014, averaing 13.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per contest.
Oladipo isn't the only Magic starter to miss preseason action with injury: Channing Frye, to date Rob Hennigan's priciest free-agent addition, also has a sprained MCL.
Orlando concludes its preseason schedule Friday against the Dallas Mavericks. The regular season gets underway Tuesday as the Magic pay a visit to the New Orleans Pelicans.
