Nik Vučević sustained a concussion in the third quarter of the Orlando Magic's loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday night, reports Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel. Vučević crashed to the floor and was unable to break his fall, landing on his hip and hitting his head on the hardwood. He eventually walked off the court under his own power, with team trainer Keon Weise in tow.

Monday's game was Vučević's first after a two-game absence due to a sprained left ankle. In 19 minutes against L.A., he shot 1-of-7 from the floor for two points to go with eight rebounds.

Vučević missed five games in the 2012/13 season due to a concussion. Prior to that campaign, the NBA instituted a new policy with regard to concussions, which policy it outlines in greater detail on its website.

To be eligible to participate in team activities, players must pass a battery of tests "of increasing exertion," the league says. Further, the team doctor must consult with the NBA's own Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher before the concussed player can return to action.
