Magic vs. Lakers: Injury-riddled L.A. visits City Beautiful

Five rotation players will be out Friday when the Lakers visit the Magic.

The Orlando Magic host the Los Angeles Lakers for their lone visit to the City Beautiful in the 2013/14 season Friday.

Tipoff between Orlando and Los Angeles is set for 7:00 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida and ESPN 580 AM in Orlando. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 5:00 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.

Orlando's last time out: The Magic came back from 19 points down against the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday, only to fall by a 112-109 final as Pero Antić made four key free throws in the final seconds. Victor Oladipo battled early foul trouble, but finished with 24 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists in defeat.

L.A.'s last time out: The Lakers dropped to 16-27 on Thursday in South Beach in a 109-102 loss to the Miami Heat. Pau Gasol and Jodie Meeks scored 22 apiece for L.A., which played without the injured Steve Blake, Kobe Bryant, Jordan Farmar, Xavier Henry, and Steve Nash.

In 2012/13: The Lakers topped the Magic, 106-97, in Dwight Howard's first visit to Orlando since it traded him to L.A. The Magic's all-time leading scorer stuffed the stat sheet with 39 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, a steal, and three blocks. Jameer Nelson scored 21 with seven assists for Orlando.
