Free-agent swingman Yakhouba Diawara is set to work out for the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, reports Shams Charania of RealGM.com, citing "a league source." Diawara will work out with the Miami Heat, his former team, on Tuesday.
According to Charania, Diawara is unlikely to sign with an NBA club unless he secures a guaranteed contract. Otherwise, "the most likely outcome" is that he will sign with a Eurocup team.
Diawara, 31, last played for the Heat in the 2009/10 season, making six appearances. He most recently played for Reyer Venezia Mestre, an Italian team which plays in the Serie A league, averaging 13.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game on 53.3 percent shooting from the floor.
Diawara went undrafted after a two-year career at Pepperdine. He owns career NBA averages of 3.5 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. Before his two seasons with the Heat, Diawara played two seasons with the Denver Nuggets.
