The Orlando Magic are among at least seven teams to express an interest in free-agent combo forward Anthony Tolliver, reports Chris Tomasson of Fox Sports Florida.
Tolliver, 28, spent the 2012/13 season with the Atlanta Hawks. In 62 appearances, including 11 starts, the Creighton product averaged 4.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game in 15.5 minutes. In his five professional seasons, split between five different teams, he's averaged 6.1 points, four rebounds, and one assist in 19.9 minutes.
Tolliver began his NBA career with the San Antonio Spurs in the 2008/09 season, where he was a teammate of Magic coach Jacque Vaughn's.
The Magic waived Al Harrington on August 2nd, freeing a roster spot which the team can fill with unsigned second-round Draft choice Romero Osby, Tolliver, or another free agent. Orlando could free another roster spot by waiving or buying out Hedo Türkoğlu, which it is expected to do before the season starts.
The other teams reportedly interested in Tolliver are the Charlotte Bobcats, Chicago Bulls, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Spurs, and Utah Jazz.
