For the last year, NBA Draft analysts have pegged the 2013 class as a relatively without much star power. The players selected figure to top out as okay starters, but probably not All-Stars.
And while the very top of the Draft looks clear, with the Cleveland Cavaliers drawing from a pool of Nerlens Noel, Otto Porter, or Alex Len with the first pick, the Orlando Magic's choice is less clear. ESPN Insider's Chad Ford, citing sources, says Orlando is considering nine different players.
Ford reports this news in his latest mock draft and has Orlando selecting Indiana shooting guard Victor Oladipo, a change from the previous mock in which he chose Michigan point guard Trey Burke. "They might take him," Ford says of the Magic and Burke, "but he's not an outright front-runner, despite the need."
If the Magic go with a shooting guard, they may need to trade Arron Afflalo, the incumbent starter, in order to fre minutes for the rookie. Interestingly, Ford believes that Oladipo's "toughness, defense and leadership" should give him the edge over Ben McLemore, given that Orlando is a rebuilding team.
