Though the 2013 NBA Draft is one of the most unpredictable ones in recent history, there's a growing belief in NBA circles that the Orlando Magic intend to select Indiana Hoosiers shooting guard Victor Oladipo with the second overall pick on Thursday, reports Adrian Wojnarowski. Other teams in the lottery have "supreme confidence" that Oladipo is Orlando's target.
Oladipo, a junior, earned Consensus All-American First Team honors for the Hoosiers. He averaged 13.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and three combined steals and blocks. In addition, his reputation as a hard-working, high-character guy precede him, and would seem to make him a natural fit for the culture that general manager Rob Hennigan is trying to instill in Orlando.
Wojnarowski also says that Orlando is exploring its options regarding trading the second pick entirely. Hennigan said Wednesday that he'd heard at least three "tempting" trade offers for the second selection.
