The Orlando Magic face the championship-contending San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday in the middle game of their five-game roadtrip. Tipoff is set for 8:30 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida in the Orlando market. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 6:30 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.
When San Antonio ended the season in which it last missed the playoffs, Magic rookie Maurice Harkless was three weeks away from his fourth birthday.
Orlando's last time out: Orlando fell behind to the Houston Rockets by as many as 25 points, but rallied to get within five with 93 seconds to play. It's difficult to win on the road when allowing 111 points, as the Magic learned. Harkless set a new career-high with 28 points, leading six Magic players in double-figure scoring. Rockets center Ömer Aşik had 22 points and 18 rebounds on 11-of-13 shooting.
San Antonio's last time out: The Spurs opened April with a 92-90 loss against the Memphis Grizzlies. San Antonio stars Manu Ginóbili and Tim Duncan both rested in the game, which it had a chance to win before Mike Conley's winning basket with 0.6 seconds remaining.
The last meeting: The Spurs pasted the Magic, 110-89, behind a vintage performance by Ginóbili. The future Hall-of-Famer scored 20 points on 6-of-9 shooting, while adding four rebounds, five assists, a steal, and just one turnover. The Spurs had an 11-2 advantage on made three-pointers.
