NBA Draft Lottery odds: Magic have best chance at top pick

Orlando finished the regular season with the league's worst record, giving it a 25 percent chance of earning the top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

As a result of Wednesday's games, the Orlando Magic will have the best odds of earning the top pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, as they finished the regular season with the league's worst record. The Lottery which will determine draft position is scheduled for May 21st.

On Wednesday, Orlando lost to the Miami Heat, giving it a 20-62 record, while the Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers, putting them at 21-61.

Orlando thus has a 25 percent chance of winning the top pick, a 21.5 percent chance at the second pick, a 17.8 percent chance at the third pick, and a 35.7 percent chance at the fourth pick. The Magic cannot pick lower than fourth in the Draft.

The Magic have won the Lottery thrice in their 24-year history, most recently in 2004, when they drafted Dwight Howard. The Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy product would go on to become the franchise's all-time scorer, rebounder, and shot-blocker.
