The Orlando Magic will have Andrew Nicholson in uniform and ready to play Friday when they host the Washington Wizards at Amway Center. The rookie power forward sprained his left ankle early in Monday's loss to the Miami Heat and did not travel with the team when it visited the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday.
Starting center Nikola Vučević, however, is still out as he recovers from what the team has called a "mild concussion." The NBA's new concussion protocols will dictate when he'll be allowed to return to the floor. He has missed Orlando's last four games and counting.
Nicholson, a rookie from St. Bonaventure, is averaging eight points and 3.4 rebounds per game on 53.5 percent shooting. Vučević has emerged as one of the league's most improved players, tallying 12.4 points, 11.5 boards, 1.8 assists and one block per game in his second season out of Southern California.
