NBA All-Star 2013: Rising Stars starting lineup voting open to fans

For the first time, the NBA has put the starting lineups for the Rising Stars Challenge to a fan vote. Here's how Magic fans can make Nik Vučević a starter for the 2013 event at All-Star Weekend in Houston.

Second-year center Nik Vučević has been one of the Orlando Magic's lone bright spots in 2012/13. After Friday's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the USC product is averaging 12.4 points, 11.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game and is the lone Orlando player to appear in each of its games.

Magic fans who want to reward Vučević for his standout season can do so by voting him into the starting five for Team Chuck in the 2013 Rising Stars Challenge at All-Star Weekend. For the first time, the NBA will allow fans to select the starting lineups for both teams in the Rising Stars Challenge. Fans can vote online via their computer or mobile device by visiting risingstarssweeps.nba.com, logging in, and selecting the five players each from Team Chuck and Team Shaq whom they'd like to see open the game.

The NBA will announce the starting lineups for the Rising Stars Challenge on February 15th, the night of the game. TNT will broadcast the game at 9 PM Eastern.

Vučević's teammates on Team Chuck are Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal, New Orleans Hornets center Anthony Davis, Denver Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried, Detroit Pistons combo guard Brandon Knight, San Antonio Spurs swingman Kawhi Leonard, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio, Timberwolves guard Alexey Shved, Sacramento Kings point guard Isaiah Thomas, and Cavaliers power forward Tristan Thompson.
