In the final hours of NBA trade season, word comes from Adrian Wojnarowski that the Orlando Magic may not deal J.J. Redick before Thursday's trade deadline. "League sources don't rule out the Magic holding onto him for rest of season," the Yahoo! Sports scribe wrote early Thursday morning. However, the Magic are "still discussing" possible trades regarding the seventh-year shooting guard.
Redick has been at the center of trade rumors involving the Magic, given his stellar play and his cap-friendly contract which expires at season's end. But that same contract hurts his value, as teams are loathe to part with many valuable assets to obtain Redick, given that he can leave as a free agent in July.
The rebuilding Magic are said to want at least a first-round draft pick in exchange for Redick.
The NBA trade deadline is Thursday at 3 PM Eastern.
