Magic vs. Hawks: Orlando wraps first half of the season

The Magic host the Hawks on Wednesday in their final game before All-Star Weekend.

In their final game before the NBA All-Star Weekend, the Orlando Magic host the Atlanta Hawks at Amway Center. Tipoff is set for 7 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida in the Orlando market. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 5 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.

Orlando's last time out: The Magic snapped their 12-game losing streak Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers, 110-104, behind 22 points from J.J. Redick, who made his return to the lineup after missing three games due to a sore shoulder. Little-used reserve big man Gustavo Ayón came off the bench to contribute 16 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.

Atlanta's last time out: The Hawks held on to beat the Dallas Mavericks on the road, 105-101. Josh Smith stuffed the stat sheet with 26 points, 12 boards, and six assists, while Jeff Teague added 20 points, four rebounds, and nine dimes. Smith made four of the Hawks' nine three-pointers and Atlanta shot 51.9 percent overall in the win.

The last meeting: Atlanta ground out an 86-80 win over Orlando at Amway Center on December 12th. It was a war of attrition, with the Hawks shooting 43.8 percent to the Magic's 38.3 percent. Smith and Teague scored 16 apiece to lead Atlanta, while Arron Afflalo scored 16 of his own for the Magic.
