Both the Orlando Magic and San Antonio Spurs will be without their regular starters at point guard Friday. Moments after Magic coach Jacque Vaughn said Jameer Nelson would sit Friday due to a sprained left foot, San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich indicated that an ankle injury will sideline Tony Parker for the game.
Cory Joseph will start in Parker's place, Popovich said. Parker sustained the injury in San Antonio's loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.
Parker, a five-time All-Star, leads the Spurs with per-game averages of 17.7 points and 6.2 assists on a sizzling 53.2 percent shooting. Joseph has appeared in 10 games for San Antonio in 2013/14, averaging 2.7 points in just 5.6 minutes.
