The Orlando Magic look to build another winning streak Wednesday when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at Amway Center. The game will be Orlando's fourth in five nights, and it'll be back in action again after the Thanksgiving holiday for their fifth game in seven nights. The schedule has not relented.
Tipoff between Orlando and Philadelphia is set for 7 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida and ESPN 580 AM in Orlando. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 5 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.
Orlando's last time out: The Magic ended their four-game losing streak, and their 17-game road skid, Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks. Strong all-around performances from Arron Afflalo, Nikola Vucevic, and Andrew Nicholson were key in the 109-92 victory, with Jameer Nelson's third-quarter playmaking proving integral to Orlando's effort.
Philadelphia's last time out: The Sixers dropped a 106-98 decision to the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, their fifth loss in their last six games. Rookie point guard Michael Carter-Williams poured in 29 points, six rebounds, three assists, and seven steals for Philly, which shot just 34.3 percent from the floor. Roy Hibbert led Indy with 27 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 13 rebounds, and six blocks in a dominant performance.
In 2012/13: The Magic won two of the three meetings between the teams in the season immediately subsequent to the Dwight Howard trade, a deal in which both teams were involved. On March 10th, the Magic picked up a 99-91 win behind a 24-point, 10-assist effort form Nelson. Vucevic, who came to the Magic via the Sixers in the Howard deal, scored 14 with 17 rebounds.
