The Orlando Magic have shuffled their starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Miami Heat. According to a tweet from the team's official Twitter account, Victor Oladipo will join Jameer Nelson, Arron Afflalo, Maurice Harkless, and Nik Vučević in the starting lineup. Magic coach Jacque Vaughn was not asked about his lineup before the game and is thus unavailable to comment until the game ends.
In his rookie season, Oladipo has performed unevenly, averaging 11.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.5 steals, but shooting just 38.9 percent from the floor and committing four turnovers per game. Wednesday's game marks the first start of his career.
"What an incredible motor," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said of Oladipo. Later, he added, "[Oladipo] makes things happen. At this point, it's a little bit of everything. Sometimes it's really good, sometimes it's not, but he's going to make it happen, and he's got a great future."
Vaughn's lineup change moves veteran power forward Jason Maxiell to the second unit and allows Orlando to better contend with Miami's offense, which spreads the floor without a traditional power forward.
