Magic vs. Mavericks: Kyle O'Quinn out, but Solomon Jones active and available

Kyle O`Quinn won't suit up for the Orlando Magic for their game Saturday against the Dallas Mavericks, coach Jacque Vaughn said in his pre-game meeting with the media. The second-year big man turned his ankle in Wednesday's victory over the Milwaukee Bucks and did not practice Thursday or Friday.

In a surprising development, Vaughn said that Solomon Jones will be available Saturday, though there's no guarantee that he'll play. "It'll be up to me whether or not he plays or not," Vaughn said.

Jones, 29, tore the lateral meniscus in his left knee in Orlando's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 30th, but Vaughn said the Mount Dora native has "responded well" to treatment. Jones elected not to undergo surgery. In two appearances before the injury, Jones averaged two points and five rebounds in 13.5 minutes. "What made him a bonus for our team is that he's a veteran and he's been in situations before," Vaughn said.
