The Orlando Magic announced Friday that Solomon Jones suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee in Wednesday's loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The 29-year-old big man will undergo surgery, the team said, and is out indefinitely.

Jones, a native of nearby Mount Dora, joined the Magic for training camp and made the team after averaging 4.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.3 steals in the preseason. He appeared in the first two games of the Magic's 2013/14 season and averaged two points and five rebounds on 50 percent shooting from the floor.

Jones joins Glen Davis among injured Magic big men. Davis has been out since January with a broken bone in his left foot. Magic general manager Rob Hennigan said Saturday that Davis could return to full-contact practice "in the next week or two."
