The Orlando Magic host the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night in the final preseason tune-up before Tuesday's opener.

Tipoff between Orlando and New Orleans is set for 7 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida and ESPN 580 AM in Orlando. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 5 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.

Orlando's last time out: The Magic got shelled in Tuesday's 123-101 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. Without Nik Vučević, Jameer Nelson, and Tobias Harris, the Magic simply didn't have enough talent to keep pace with the Western champs, who rested Tony Parker in their victory. Victor Oladipo shone for Orlando, contributing 22 points, six rebounds, five assists, and one monster dunk.

New Orleans' last time out: The Pelicans' chase for an undefeated preseason campaign ended Wednesday in their 108-95 defeat against the Miami Heat, a game with which you may be familiar because Heat center Greg Oden played in it. Eric Gordon scored 19 points to lead the Pelicans, who couldn't pull off the win despite shooting 45.5 percent from the floor, hitting 11 three-pointers, and shooting 24-of-31 at the line.

The last meeting: The Magic opened their preseason against New Orleans, with the Pelicans coming up victorious by a 99-95 final. Harris and Vucevic had twin 17-point, nine-rebound lines, but Orlando simply couldn't counter Anthony Davis: the former top overall Draft pick contributed 29 points, nine rebounds, one assist, two steals, and four blocks to New Orleans' narrow win.
