The Orlando Magic wrap up a two-game homestand Sunday evening when the Detroit Pistons visit on Pink in the Paint night.
Tipoff between Orlando and Detroit is set for 6 PM Eastern on ESPN 580 AM in Orlando; the game is not available on local television. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 4 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.
Orlando's last time out: The Magic couldn't hang with the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, with Mike Miller scorching his former club for an efficient 19 points in 30 minutes. Orlando got an encouraging performance from rookie guard Victor Oladipo, who provided 22 points, four rebounds, and three assists off its bench.
Detroit's last time out: The Pistons fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 96-84, on Thursday due in large part to shooting 38.7 percent from the floor and committing 22 turnovers for 29 points. Greg Monroe led Detroit with 16 points, but shot just 6-of-15 from the floor to get there, while Josh Smith negated his positives (three assists, four steals, and two blocks) with six turnovers.
In 2012/13: The teams split the season series, with Orlando winning the first two meetings--one at home, one on the road--and Detroit taking care of the final two. In the most recent meeting, Jameer Nelson hit two of three free throws with 6.7 seconds left to bring the Magic within two points, and then intentionally missed the third free throw. Orlando then missed four potential game-tying tip-in attempts and time expired.
