The Orlando Magic return to Amway Center on Friday night for the first of two straight home games, this one against the grit-and-grind Memphis Grizzlies.
Tipoff between Orlando and Memphis is set for 7 PM Eastern on ESPN 580 AM in Orlando; the game is not available on local television. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 5 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.
Orlando's last time out: The Magic couldn't stop the Houston Rockets from raining threes against them Wednesday, yielding 13 to Dwight Howard's new club in a 108-104 loss. James Harden scored 21 points in 18 minutes for the home team. Magic guard E'Twaun Moore led his club with 17 off the bench, and Andrew Nicholson added a tidy 15 points and nine boards.
Memphis' last time out: The Grizzlies picked up their second consecutive victory on Tuesday by topping the Milwaukee Bucks, 102-99, at FedExForum. Memphis closed the game on a 10-2 run to steal the victory, with Michael Conley's and-one layup providing the go-ahead points at the 30-second mark. Quincy Pondexter led Memphis with 24 points, a figure which would set a career-high were preseason games official.
In 2012/13: Orlando went winless in two tries against the Grizzlies, nearly pulling off an upset in Memphis but falling by 26 points at Amway Center in the teams' most recent meeting. In that defeat, Orlando yielded 53 percent shooting from the floor and 11 three-point baskets as six Grizzlies scored between 10 and 14 points.
