The Orlando Magic open 2013 at home against the New York Knicks on Saturday night. Tipoff is set for 7 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida in the Orlando market. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 5 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.

Orlando's last time out: Point guard Jameer Nelson scored a career-high-tying 32 points, but the Magic didn't have the defense they needed to stop the Chicago Bulls' frontcourt in a 98-96 loss. Starting at center for Joakim Noah, who missed the game due to having flu-like symtpoms, Taj Gibson poured in 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Carlos Boozer tied a season-high with 31 points.

New York's last time out: The Knicks blew out the San Antonio Spurs, 100-83, at Madison Square Garden. Carmelo Anthony scored a game-high 23 points, while J.R. Smith added 20 off the bench. Steve Novak made five three-pointers for all 15 of his points.

The last meeting: Orlando hung tight with the East-leading Knicks, but ultimately fell, 99-89, after scoring just 13 points in the fourth quarter. Anthony contributed 25 points and eight rebounds, while Smith scored 21 in reserve. Seven Magic players scored in double-figures, with J.J. Redick leading the way with 18.
