The Orlando Magic's season series with the Detroit Pistons closes on Sunday night at Amway Center. Tipoff is set for 6 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida in the Orlando market. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 4 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.
Orlando's last time out: The Magic used a small lineup to work their way back against the Toronto Raptors on Thursday, but DeMar DeRozan's fading jumper at the buzzer sent them to their 15th loss in their last 17 games. Nik Vučević led Orlando with 19 points and 14 rebounds, but did not play at all in the fourth quarter as coach Jacque Vaughn preferred to use Glen Davis at center with his small group. Toronto shot 50 percent from the field and committed just 10 turnovers.
Detroit's last time out: Despite 31 points from Greg Monroe, the Pistons fell to the Miami Heat on Friday in a 110-88 rout. Detroit held a one-point lead after the first quarter, but Miami outscored it in each of the next three periods to pick up the easy win. Reserve guard Will Bynum was the only Piston apart from Monroe to score in double-figures. In addition, Monroe was the only Piston to make more than one basket after halftime.
The last meeting: Tuesday in Detroit, the Pistons built a two-point halftime lead over Orlando, and then ballooned that lead to as large as 16 points in the third quarter as the Magic fell apart on both ends of the floor. Brandon Knight had 18 points to lead Detroit, which got double-doubles of 11-points and 11-rebounds from Jason Maxiell and Andre Drummond.
