The Orlando Magic hope to snap their 10-game losing streak Saturday as they visit the Los Angeles Clippers. Tipoff is set for 3:30 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida in the Orlando market. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 1:30 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.
Orlando's last time out: The Magic built a lead that reached nine points in the fourth quarter on Wednesday, but fell to the Denver Nuggets, 108-105, due to some defensive breakdowns. Kenneth Faried scored 19 points and grabbed a season-high-tying 19 boards. Jameer Nelson led all scorers with 20 points, but he conceded a key three-point play to Ty Lawson in the final 90 seconds.
L.A.'s last time out: The Clippers picked up their third consecutive win Wednesday night against the visiting Dallas Mavericks by a 99-93 final. The visiting Mavs held the lead when the fourth quarter began, but Chris Paul found Matt Barnes for a three-pointer with eight minutes remaining which gave L.A. the lead for good, though a jumper from Dirk Nowitzki did bring Dallas to within two points with 2:25 to go. Barnes, a former Magic player, and Paul led the Clippers with 19 points apiece.
The last meeting: Saturday's contest will be the first meeting between the teams in 2012/13. The Clippers prevailed in overtime in the lone matchup of the lockout-shortened 2011/12 season. Via a score or assist, Paul accounted for nine of L.A.'s 13 overtime points.
