The Orlando Magic announced Tuesday that they've signed rookie power forward Andrew Nicholson to a contract. The team declined to disclose details of the deal.
The Magic made Nicholson, 22, the 19th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft on Thursday. In his senior season at St. Bonaventure, Nicholson averaged 18.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and two blocked shots to lead the Bonnies to the NCAA Tournament and earn Atlantic 10 Player of the Year honors.
"We are excited to have Andrew join our Orlando Magic family," Magic general manager Rob Hennigan said in a statement on Draft night. "We feel he embodies the types of values that will put him in a position to achieve success here. He’s a humble, high character player, who’s committed to working hard and playing within a team concept. We are intrigued by his cerebral, instinctual approach to the game."
