Orlando Magic superstar Dwight Howard had the league's fifth-most popular jersey in worldwide sales, according to figures the NBA released Thursday. For the first time, the NBA announced jersey-sale rankings for markets outside the United States.
Howard placed fifth, behind Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose, Miami Heat forward LeBron James, and Boston Celtics center Kevin Garnett. Howard was the only Magic player to place in the top 15 internationally.
Howard was at his most popular in China, where only Bryant, Rose, and James' jerseys outsold his. The overall international top five held steady in Europe, but Howard did not place in the top five in Latin American countries.
