The Orlando Magic have suspended reserve point guard Chris Duhon for one game for "conduct detrimental to the team," the club announced Monday. Duhon will miss Monday's home game against the Detroit Pistons as a result of the suspension. "Chris had some personal issues that came up and he had to take care of that," Kevin Bradbury, his agent, told the Orlando Sentinel. "But he's got everything on the right track now."
Duhon, who has yet to miss a game in the 2011/12 season, is averaging 3.9 points and 2.4 assists per game in 56 appearances, including eight starts. He leads the team in three-point shooting, connecting onf 45.1 percent of his shot attempts from beyond the arc.
Duhon joins starting small forward Hedo Turkoglu (facial fractures) and starting center Dwight Howard (back spasms) as Magic players unavailable for Monday's contest. His absence will thrust little-used point guard Ish Smith into heavier action against Detroit. Smith has averaged 1.2 points and 1.1 assists per game since joining Orlando in February.
