One day after the NBA formally announced its plans to hold Summer League games in Las Vegas, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports the Orlando Magic once again plan to host the Orlando Pro Summer League. Though the team has yet to make an official announcement, Robbins says the Orlando Pro Summer League, which is closed to the public, will take place at the Amway Center practice court July 9th-13th.

Due to the NBA lockout, neither the NBA nor the Magic hosted summer leagues in 2011. The 2012 installment of the Orlando Pro Summer League will be the first Orlando will host at Amway Center; in prior seasons, the team held the event at RDV SportsPlex.

The Orlando Pro Summer League enables the Magic and the other teams electing to participate to evaluate draft picks and undrafted free agents prior to training camp. Magic youngsters such as J.J. Redick, Marcin Gortat, Ryan Anderson, and Daniel Orton have used it as an opportunity to showcase their skills.

Luke Harangody of the Boston Celtics; Damion James and Terrence Williams of the New Jersey Nets; Byron Mullens of the Oklahoma City Thunder; and Jrue Holiday of the Philadelphia 76ers earned First-Team All-Summer League honors in 2010.
