The Orlando Magic end their five-game Western roadtrip Sunday against the Phoenix Suns in a similar manner to the way they began it: against a team starting a former Magic player at center. Tipoff is set for 8 PM Eastern on Fox Sports Florida in the Orlando market. The Orlando Pinstriped Post GameThread will appear at 6 PM in this StoryStream and on the cover.
Orlando opened its roadtrip with improbable wins against the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors on consecutive nights, but lost its next two games as its offense went in the tank. In those games, the Magic have shot 40.8 percent from the field and 16.7 percent from three-point range.
The Suns are most assuredly worse off: their losing streak reached six games--the longest current streak for any Western Conference club--Saturday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. Jamal Crawford scored 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter to help L.A. turn a 2-point lead into an 18-point one.
Orlando is 6-16 all-time against the Suns in Phoenix, but won its last game there by a 111-88 margin. That victory ended an eight-game losing streak in Phoenix overall.
