The Orlando Magic lost backup point guard E'Twaun Moore in the first half of their game against the Washington Wizards on Friday. Moore collided with Wizards forward Cartier Martin while fighting for a loose ball at the end of the first quarter and was slow to get to his feet, in obvious pain.
According to sideline reporter Dante Marchitelli, Moore underwent X-rays in Orlando's locker room, which tests came up negative. The team has diagnosed him with a sprained left elbow and will list him as day-to-day. He will not return to Friday's game.
Ish Smith, the little-used third-string point guard, will back up Jameer Nelson until Moore can return.
Moore has averaged 9.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in his second professional season, his first with Orlando.
