December 15th is a big day for the NBA because that's when most players who signed free-agent contracts during the previous summer become trade-eligible. At Grantland, Zach Lowe runs down the situations of several players who'll become tradable on the 15th, including Orlando Magic point guard Jameer Nelson. Might the Magic try to move the 30-year-old team co-captain?

If Orlando wants to trade Nelson--and there's no indication that it does--then it has a tough sell: "[H]e's shooting poorly in the first year of a pricey three-year deal," Lowe writes, "and he hasn't lifted Orlando's offense at all since his return [from injury]."

Indeed, the Magic score just 99 points per 100 possessions, the second-worst figure in the league, and that figure only improves to 101 points per 100 possessions with Nelson on the floor. Furthermore, the St. Joseph's product is posting career-worsts in shooting from the field (39.6 percent) and three-point range (30.3 percent).
