Orlando Magic forward Maurice Harkless will make the first start of his NBA career on Wednesday night against the Detroit Pistons, reports Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel. Harkless, a 6-foot-8 rookie from St. John's, will match up against veteran Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince, whom Detroit lists at 6-foot-9. Prince matched a season high with 18 points in his last game against Orlando, during which Arron Afflalo drew the defensive assignment.
Afflalo himself hinted Wednesday morning that coach Jacque Vaughn might make such a change in the starting lineup, one which would move Afflalo to his more natural position of shooting guard.
In seven appearances, Harkless has averaged 3.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks. He becomes Orlando's fifth starting small forward on the season, joining Hedo Türkoğlu, Josh McRoberts, DeQuan Jones, and Afflalo.
