Orlando Magic swingman Arron Afflalo hinted after Wednesday's shootaround that the Magic may change their starting lineup for that night's game against the Detroit Pistons.
"Coach may start a three-man tonight," Afflalo told the media, as Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.
Afflalo, a natural shooting guard, had started each of Orlando's last five games as the nominal small forward, with J.J. Redick starting at the two. But Magic coach Jacque Vaughn is concerned with the Pistons' size on the wings, and may elect to play DeQuan Jones and Maurice Harkless significant minutes at small forward for defensive purposes. Robbins also notes that Josh McRoberts, who previously started twice at small forward, could also log some time at that position against Detroit.
In Orlando's win against the Pistons on Friday, veteran small forward Tayshaun Prince erupted for 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, often matched up against Afflalo, over whom he enjoys a four-inch height advantage.
