The Orlando Magic fell to 3-7 on the season with Monday's loss to the Atlanta Hawks at Philips Arena, their seventh consecutive defeat at Atlanta, and the game was an ugly one for both sides, as the four-factors data show:

Neither team lived up to its 2011/12 performance in any of the four factors, and the offensive performance was the Magic's worst of the season; though they scored fewer points (68) in an earlier loss to the Brooklyn Nets, that game had significantly fewer possessions. When adjusted for pace, Orlando has never been more inept under coach Jacque Vaughn than it was Monday.
The Magic turned the ball over on nearly 20 percent of their possessions. Teams of Orlando's caliber--which is to say, teams severely lacking in talent--have a low margin for error, and cannot remain competitive unless they're executing their offenses with precision. Given the Magic's carelessness, it's no wonder they stand at 3-7, and that the only thing keeping them out of the Southeast Division's cellar is the ineptitude of the winless Washington Wizards.
