In the third week of their season, the Orlando Magic ended a five-game losing streak and picked up their first road victory, but tumbled to 1-2. At 3-6, Orlando at fourth in the Southeast Division and 11th in the Eastern Conference.
Orlando Pinstriped Post looks ahead at the Magic's schedule for the coming week. All times listed are Eastern.
Monday: Magic at Atlanta Hawks, 7:30 PM, Fox Sports Florida and NBA TV
In the second game of a back-to-back set and the final leg of a three-game road trip, Orlando takes on Southeast rival Atlanta. The Hawks are 4-4 even after dealing Joe Johnson to the Brooklyn Nets for scrap over the summer.
Wednesday: Magic vs. Detroit Pistons, 7 PM, Fox Sports Florida
Detroit, which blew a 13-point lead to the Magic on Friday, doesn't have to wait long for a rematch. This game is the first of a five-game homestand before the Magic head West for a long roadtrip.
Friday: Magic vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, 7 PM, Fox Sports Florida
The rebuilding Cavaliers have lost six straight games, including one to Brooklyn wherein Anderson Varejão, of all people, popped off for 35 points and 18 rebounds.
Sunday: Magic vs. Boston Celtics, 6 PM, Fox Sports Florida
It used to be that an Orlando/Boston game on a Sunday would mean national television and some trash talk. Now it's just another part of the NBA's Sunday schedule.
