The Orlando Magic fell to the Brooklyn Nets, 107-68, on Friday night, their worst defeat since a 117-77 loss against the Chicago Bulls in April 2005. Remarkably, the Magic trimmed what had been a 14-point halftime deficit to seven points at the 10:26 mark of the third quarter, but Brooklyn would outscore them by a 57-25 margin the rest of the way.
The 39-point victory margin doesn't really tell the whole story of Brooklyn's dominance: the Nets cruised to it in a slow-paced game, as the four-factors chart below illustrates.

The Nets outclassed the Magic in every phase of the game, and did so handily. It's not as though Brooklyn simply had a great shooting night, or happened to grab every rebound, or took exceptional care of the ball: it did all of those things, and Orlando did none of them.
And not one single Nets player overwhelmed the Magic; it's just that the host team had no answer for anything Brooklyn did. Minimum-salary pickups Andray Blatche and Jerry Stackhouse went bananas for the Nets: Blatche, an amnesty-clause castoff formerly of the Washington Wizards, posted a team-high 15 points to go with nine rebounds and four assists, while Stackhouse, at age 38 and in his first appearance of the season, drilled three three-pointers en route to scoring 11 points in 10 minutes.
Orlando got another efficient scoring performance from E'Twaun Moore, who continues to fill it up in the absence of starting point guard Jameer Nelson. However, Moore committed six turnovers on the evening, bringing his season average to three per game. That's how bad Orlando's night went: Friday, even its bright spots had dark spots.
