Friday evening, the Orlando Magic take on the Houston Rockets in their final exhibition game of the 2012/13 preseason, with the regular-season scheduled to tipoff seven days later. Friday's game starts at 7 PM Eastern and will be televised on Fox Sports Florida in the Orlando market.
Orlando's two-game winning streak ended Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies despite 23 points from reserve guard J.J. Redick. Orlando had kept the game close through three periods and trailed by just two points entering the final quarter, but its comeback effort stalled in the fourth: the Magic missed 17 of their 21 shots in the final frame as the Grizzlies cruised to a 115-100 victory.
Houston is 4-2 in exhibition play despite a poor showing from star point guard Jeremy Lin, whom it signed away from the New York Knicks in restricted free agency. Through five games, the Harvard sensation is shooting 22.2 percent from the floor and averaging a meager five points per outing.
