Magic vs. Pacers: Orlando Hosts Indiana in Playoff Rematch

The 0-4 Magic take on the Pacers, who ended their 2011/12 season in the first round of the playoffs, in exhibition action Friday.

Michael Hickey-US PRESSWIRE

The Orlando Magic take the court at Amway Center for the first of two weekend exhibitions on Friday when they host the Indiana Pacers, their opponent in the 2011/12 playoffs. Though technically a postseason rematch, Orlando's roster now bears little resemblance to the one it had when Indiana eliminated it in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. Tipoff is set for 7 PM Eastern.

The Magic are winless in four tries this preseason, most recently losing both ends of a back-to-back set Monday and Tuesday. In the most recent defeat, Orlando allowed the Detroit Pistons to shoot 54.3 percent from the field and to drain 10 three-pointers, though in the Magic's defense, coach Jacque Vaughn elected to rest key veterans Glen Davis, Jameer Nelson, J.J. Redick, and Hedo Türkoğlu in that contest. Camp invitee DeQuan Jones scored 22 points in the loss.

Indiana is 2-1 in the preseason and won its most recent outing, 102-98, against the Atlanta Hawks. Paul George shot just 4-of-14 from the floor, but he went 11-of-11 from the foul line to lead Indiana with 20 points. All-Star center Roy Hibbert posted a 16-point, 11-rebound double-double.
