One night after losing in overtime to fall to 0-3 in preseason play, the Orlando Magic head to the Motor City to take on the Detroit Pistons. Glen Davis scored a game-high 27 points for Orlando, but Jeremy Pargo's driving layup and-one with 4.1 seconds remaining in regulation tied the game for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who prevailed in OT behind seven points from Omri Casspi.
The Pistons, for their part, are 1-2 in exhibition action and lost their most recent game, a 108-91 decision against the Milwaukee Bucks. Rookie center Andre Drummond put up 19 points and 10 rebounds (seven offensive) off the bench for the Pistons, but six Bucks scored in double-figures to guide host Milwaukee to an easy win.
Magic coach Jacque Vaughn made centers Kyle O'Quinn and Gustavo Ayón healthy scratches on Monday in order to keep them fresh for Tuesday's tilt; one suspects that Vaughn may sit Davis, Andrew Nicholson, and/or Nikola Vučević against Detroit in order to let O'Quinn and Ayón log heavy minutes.
