The Orlando Magic opened their 2012/13 preseason campaign by dropping an 85-80 decision against the New Orleans Hornets in Mexico City on Sunday, but will have an opportunity to get into the win column Thursday night when they host the Philadelphia 76ers at Amway Center. The game is the first for Philadelphia in 2012/13, and it'll take the floor without franchise cornerstone Andrew Bynum, who is resting a nagging knee injury.
The Magic, of course, helped the Sixers land Bynum, coming off the first All-Star selection of his career, in August by trading Dwight Howard to the Los Angeles Lakers. In the transaction, the Lakers shipped Bynum to the City of Brotherly Love. Philly also took on Magic swingman Jason Richardson in the deal, while routing center Nikola Vučević and rookie swingman Maurice Harkless to Orlando.
Tipoff between the Magic and Sixers is set for 7 PM. The game won't be televised, but one can listen to Dennis Neumann and Richie Adubato call the action on 580 AM or 96.5 FM in Orlando. The Magic's complete list of radio affiliates for the 2012/13 season is available here.
